Folklórny Súbor Ekonóm

The history of the Ekonóm Folk Dance Ensemble started being written in May 1969 at the University of Economics in Bratislava. The members of the ensemble, both then and now, brought a piece of their home region to the capital city of Bratislava; the variety and diversity of these regions has remained one of the main characteristic features of Ekonóm to this day. During more than fifty years, the artistic activity of the ensemble has been shaped by many, not only Slovak,  choreographers and composers.

To this day, the members of the ensemble are students of Bratislava high schools and colleges who share a passion for Slovak folklore. The repertoire of the ensemble includes complex blocks showcasing the traditional Slovak folk culture, as well as separate musical, singing and dancing numbers. FS Ekonóm regularly performs in various folklore festival programmes in Slovakia and abroad (e.g. MFF Strážnice 2023, Newborn Kosovo 2022, Australia 2019-2020, China 2018, Portugal 2018, Bulgaria 2018), as well as in its own performances and productions
